Chronicle of a lost city by Momo Kapor, now resident in Belgrade, is a farewell to Sarajevo – native city of the author.
In the course of a night prayer taking place in the church of the Holy Virgin’s Annunciation, part of the Hillandar monastery, faded images of the city come to life, its forever lost parts, destinies and scents; a whole history of the long-lasting fall and erasure of historical memory. All of which resulted in the great exodus of 150.000 Serbs from Sarajevo, a city taken away from them.
Kapor’s autobiographical novel is a sort of guide through a Sarajevo which no longer exists.
