Two weeks after Sting, the celebrated Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti performed in Novi Sad on June 5 before some 10,000 fans.
Eros Ramazzotti was born on October 28, 1963, in Cinecittà, a small neighborhood on the outskirts of Rome. He had two passions: music and football. He grew up in a poor family, where his father earned a living as a house painter.
Already as a boy, Eros grew tired of school and eventually left it, deciding to devote himself to music. “I’m just a kid who always wanted to sing. My culture comes from the street, not from school or some university,” he once told reporters. He started his music career as a teenager, when he moved to Milan. At the popular Sanremo Festival in 1984, he won first place in the „new voices“ category with the song “Terra promessa”.
His new album, Calma apparente, which went platinum in Germany, was released last November. The song Belong to You, recorded as a duet with Anastacia and currently enjoying great success across Europe, is also featured on the new album.
