ZDRAVKO COLIĆ FILLED THE MARACANA FOR THE THIRD TIME

One of the biggest Yugoslav pop stars, Zdravko Čolić, held an almost four-hour concert on Saturday evening at Belgrade's Marakana stadium, in front of about 70,000 people, confirming his star status once again.

The concert started at 20:30 with the performance of the female string quartet Intermeco, which played several pop and rock classics, such as Englishman In New York, on stringed instruments.

Čolić started the performance with the song "Mala" from the new album "Zavičaj", which brought the audience to its feet already with the first bars. "Good evening, welcome", Čolić greeted the audience, addressing especially the visitors in the west, east, north and parterre. He said at the beginning that during the evening he would sing old hits, but also songs from Zavicaj, and immediately afterwards he would warm the atmosphere with the hits Whose star is it, Go on, Live in the clouds, I'll write her debt letters.

Thanks to great musicians, and renewed arrangements with a stronger and fresher sound, some older songs have received new energy, such as the hits Selen velen and Çaja Šukaria.

He sang 41 songs, including almost all the big hits from his rich career.

During the entire performance, Čolić did not "spare" his voice or himself for a single moment, and thus held a lesson for some local stars who did gather a large number of people at the concerts, but were not even close to tonight's performance.

The popular Chola was constantly in contact with the audience, walking from one end of the stage to the other, as well as on the protruding part, the so-called catwalk, which brought especially the more numerous female part of the audience into a state close to ecstasy.

The concert was accompanied by great stage effects, which even big world music stars wouldn't be ashamed of, and an equally good sound system.

The crown of the concert was the song Pjesmo moja, during which Čolić was accompanied by a male choir, and after which a vartomet was arranged.
