Synopsis

The Harlem Globetrotters, the world's most famous basketball entertainers, played to a packed "Pionir" Hall in Belgrade and thrilled the large crowd with their basketball skills.

They first came to Serbia some fifty years ago, entertaining more than 30,000 people at the JNA Stadium, while Belgrade audiences last had the chance to see them a little over 20 years ago, also at "Pionir". That show is remembered not only for its spectacular moves but also for its huge attendance.

The Globetrotters were founded by Abe Saperstein in 1926, and they played their first official game on January 7 of the following year.

This is their 80th year of touring and entertaining basketball fans around the world. According to 2005 figures, over the course of their career they have visited 117 countries and performed in front of 12.1 million spectators.

Besides great entertainment, the Serbian audience at the basketball spectacle in Belgrade's "Pionir" will also enjoy quality play, as the Globetrotters are known for giving their all in the first part of the game to build a commanding lead before turning to fun and games.
